Time for AFC West Ham United?
For discussion, could we Follow the lead of AFC Wimbledon and United of Manchester and start again? Local Stadium 2-3,000 capacity to start with, maybe an ex player as manager, work our way through the leagues? Take it back to where we started?

I am the Chairman of a Non-League club. I'll do you a deal to ground share...popcorn at a quid a bag?

Let us know how you get on at the AFC.

Most AFC clubs are hated specially FC Utd of Wankchester. Like another poster said there are plenty of local teams to go watch.

I have done lots of local clubs now and you get the feeling you use to get years ago simple plain football the rest is all corporate crap. Most you can drink a pint and watch at the same time.

I'm a season ticket holder, I attend game.

So even in the modern era and even though they're attempting to change the club inside and out, you want the likes of me to keep away?

Woooosh.

If a breakaway club was formed, you can bet people would flock to see them play.

If you build it, they will come."

Why don't you go a build it and see how you get on? Or go and support Chelsea or Arsenal if you want it easy.

Fucking lightweights making out they support the club these days.

We'll be better off without the likes of you. You'd be first in the queue for a cup final ticket though eh?

Re: Time for AFC West Ham United?

Doesn't feel much like West Ham United at the moment, Huffers. When a club changes beyond recognition, supporters get pissed off and find what they loved about the game in the first instance.

Bulph, I make you right.

In terms of supporting any old non-league side just isn't going to happen. The idea of a breakaway will mean there's some bond between club and supporter. I'd imagine a breakaway would be similar to AFC Liverpool in that it's a place for supporters to go to find the things they love about football again. There wouldn't be any anti West Ham London movement behind it, just a congregation for those who find the move and 21st century football distasteful.

Is that them pitches just off the A12? It's like playihg on the side if a mountain.

As I put, it's only for discussion, which is why we have a chat forum, I'm not for or against it, just aware how much unrest there is towards the new stadium & current owners etc and how other clubs fans with the same issues have managed to create a more fan based local "version" of the club they support(ed)

Re: Time for AFC West Ham United?

You've come to the wrong place if you're after reasoned debate on this, even though it is likely to happen in the next few years.

The club could dig up Bobby Moore and stick him as an attraction in the club shop, and the lapdogs on here would make a case for it...

Why not just go and support a local non-league side? There are loads of them struggling to survive that would love the support.
My guess is you'll soon get bored at the lack of atmosphere and quality of football there though.

Harold Wood FC play in Claret and Blue, we have wonky pitches and limited parking but the station is up the road, we have a lovely clubhouse, the chilli and rice is decent and the admission fee is free.

How is it? Considering the slap-happy bans, issues with stewarding and the new ground not being fit for football, which part is knicker-wetting?

Knicker wetting at its finest!

Re: Time for AFC West Ham United?
People laugh, but people probably laughed at Wimbledon fans who wanted to support their club. What about FC United supporters?

The thing is, any breakaway needs to be sold on the basis of giving supporters a place to support a club how they want away from the corporate shit. West Ham Ironworks Football Club was a name suggested on here by a poster.

If a breakaway club was formed, you can bet people would flock to see them play.

If you build it, they will come.

Much more of the nonsense we've had this season and I would be up for this. Rather be a supporter than a customer, especially a badly treated one.
